The Calm No® Method - For Family Breakdown
That tense feeling. Walking on eggshells. Not wanting to upset anyone. Shrinking to keep the peace. Saying yes when really the answer should be no.
Picky eaters. Seventeen cups lying around. Feeling like an unpaid taxi driver, the home slave, endlessly chasing dirt and having the same arguments over and over again. Feeling unappreciated while everyone in the house seems to be clashing.
Screaming matches. Slammed doors. Arguments. Tantrums. Silence. Tension.
This is often the sign of a house under pressure.
You are not failing. You are just stuck.
The Calm No® Method is a structured approach designed to reduce friction in the home and help families understand the effects pressure has on behaviour—so everyone can understand each other better and reconnect.
This method has been developed through both lived and professional experience.
As a mother of five, including raising a neurodivergent child, I understand pressure personally as well as professionally.
There was a time family life felt incredibly difficult and I was counting down the days until he reached 18 and felt guilty for it.
Through deep behavioural observation, practical intervention and the creation of a structured method for change, things transformed. He changed, our relationship changed and home changed.
Now I enjoy being around him and we have a great relationship. He talks to me about anything and everything, although some topics I would rather not hear.
My home feels calmer, safe, happy, loving and connected. The kids are kinder to each other and I no longer need to play referee, they are loving with each other more often than not which is beautiful to see. They have their moments as siblings do but these days I just laugh at them and it blows over.
The changes I made to my own life are nothing compared to how I changed my home. Changing our household and my sons behaviour has been one of my greatest achievements.
The Calm No® Method says no to arguments and no to friction.
My Calm No® Method gets families unstuck so parents can parent without guilt and the constant feeling of failing.
Parenting doesn’t have to feel hard.
Life can feel different.

The Calm No® Guide
This guide is an introduction to the Calm No Method, with a focus on saying no without guilt.
Parents who feel guilty, overwhelmed or like they are failing often find it difficult to say no—particularly in neurodiverse households, homes navigating ADHD or homes with younger children where emotions can run high and behaviour feels challenging.
When pressure builds, it is easy to become overwhelmed and fall into repeating patterns.
This guide helps parents say no more calmly, reduce guilt, create calm at home and stop feeling like they are failing.
